The Little Princes of Rajasthan

Aurelie Chauleur, 2016, 40 min., G. Presented in Marwari with English subtitles.

Meet the musician caste born to serve their patrons, or “Jajmans.” Based out of Barnawa, India, 130 km from the blue city of Jodhpur, hundreds of families live by and for music, teaching the new generation their ancestral way of singing. This film follows a trio who represent the future of the community — three young boys, Hamid, Anwar, and Swaroop, who dream of becoming famous.
