ON-SITE VISIT GUIDELINES

  • Each half-day program consists of a classroom/studio activity, unless otherwise arranged between the Museum and the visiting teacher. A full-day program consists of a one-hour tour and 2 one-hour workshops.

  • Half-day program: $8 per student
    Full-day program: $16 per student
    Self-guided visits: $8 per student

  • Please note no refunds or changes to group numbers are permitted on the day of you visit.

GROUP SUPERVISION RATIO

Students must be accompanied by adult chaperones in adherence with the following group supervision ratios:

  • Early Learning (ages 2-5): 1 adult chaperone for every 5 students
  • Primary (grades 1-3): 1 adult chaperone for every 5 students
  • Junior (grades 4-6): 1 adult chaperone for every 8 students
  • Middle School (grades 7-8): 1 adult chaperone for every 10 students
  • High School (grades 9-12): 1 adult chaperone for every 20 students

 

Required adult chaperones are not charged museum admission. Additional chaperones (i.e. in excess of the required ratio) will be charged the student rate of $8 each.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

You can make your payment:

  1. In person at the Museum
    We accept debit card, credit card, cash, or cheque on the day of arrival.

  2. By phone
    Pay by credit card over the phone by calling the Education Department at 416 646 4677 ext.7726.

  3. Online
    If your school is part of the online payment system, simply select “The Aga Khan Museum” from your list of vendors.

  4. By mail
    We accept school/company cheque. Please make your payment to the Aga Khan Museum and mail to:

  5. By direct deposit
    Please email us at learn@agakhanmuseum.org and we will send you the necessary banking details in order to process payment.

  • After booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation email and invoice with a booking number.

  • Please note that complete payment is due on the day of your visit for the number of students confirmed via booking invoice.

CANCELLATION POLICY
  • Notice of cancellation must be emailed to learn@agakhanmuseum.org no later than 10 business days prior to your visit date.

  • Schools will not be charged for cancelling their visit in the case of inclement weather, and should you need to reschedule you visit, please contact us at learn@agakhanmuseum.org.

CHANGES IN NUMBERS
  • Changes in numbers can be made up to two business days prior to your visit. Refunds are not permitted on the day of visit. Please email us at learn@agakhanmuseum.org so that staff resources and revised pricing can be determined.

PRE-ARRIVAL INFORMATION

  • After submitting your Booking Form, you will receive a confirmation email including an invoice with your booking number.

  • Please note that complete payment is due on the day of your visit for the number of students confirmed in your invoice.

GETTING HERE
  • The Aga Khan Museum is located at 77 Wynford Drive, located one light north of Eglinton off Don Mills Road.

  • By bus, the Museum is a short distance from downtown Toronto, via the Don Valley Parkway.
    Above ground bus parking is available on the premises for free, just outside of the Museum.

  • By public transit, the Museum is a direct bus ride from several subway stations, including Broadview, Pape, and Eglinton.

LUNCH
  • Please note we do not have a designated lunch room. Groups are welcome to eat in the Aga Khan Park (weather permitting) or in the Atrium space.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
  • We have limited coat check space in the Education Centre. Upon arrival, a Museum Educator will guide you through this process.
  • Please bring only what students needs for their visit and leave bags at school if possible.

  • Please keep your valuables with you at all times. The Museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Food (including gum) and drinks are not allowed into the galleries.

  • Please do not bring outside art materials into the galleries unless otherwise specified and agreed upon at the time of booking. Aga Khan Museum Educators will provide all materials required for the booked program.

  • Please do not touch objects in the galleries. Your skin contains oils that can damage many of the objects over time.

  • Photography for personal use is permitted in most galleries, provided that no flash is used. Where the museum is obligated to prohibit photography of certain objects or exhibits, those items will be clearly marked as such.

  • If you have selected the workshop activity option, please wear comfortable and washable clothes. Learning and creativity can be a messy process!
