Tempo: From Zakho to Al-Faw Folk Dance By Enkidu Dance Company

Join us for an extravaganza folk performance featuring Iraqi dances from the Northern mountains of Kurdistan to the Southern Marshes of Basra. Presented as part of the Iraqi Festival of Toronto, the exciting evening will be led by award-winning choreographer Mohanad Hawaz.

 


About Mohanad Hawaz

Mohanad Hawaz is an award-winning dancer with a theatre background in both modern and contemporary styles, as well as Iraqi dance. He continues to be a sought-after dance instructor and choreographer in Middle Eastern dance communities for his unmatched abilities. He has received honourary awards from the Algerian, Jordanian, and Egyptian Ministries of Culture and was officially recognized by both Sweden and China for his work in representing Iraqi culture through dance.
