Inspired by the spiritual and musical legacy of John and Alice Coltrane, saxophonist brothers Jonathan and Andrew Kay carry forward the Coltranes’ vision of transcultural jazz and musical transcendence. Rooted in Toronto’s jazz scene and deepened by years of study in North Indian classical music in Kolkata, the Kay brothers reimagine the Coltrane sound through a powerful global fusion of traditions.

Their debut, The Coltrane Sutras: Dusk Dawn Suite (2021), featured jazz greats Roberto Occhipinti and Pat LaBarbera. Their latest release, Cosmic Threads of Becoming, expands this cross-cultural dialogue, blending Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and Afro-Cuban influences into a deeply spiritual and boundary-pushing jazz experience.
