Roopa Panesar is considered one of the finest sitar players from the UK to emerge on the Indian Classical Music scene. She is a disciple of the renowned educationalist and leading musician of the UK, Ustad Dharambir Singh ji MBE, a disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan.

Roopa’s knowledge and skills have also been strengthened by additional training from masters including Pandit Arvind Parikh, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Pt. Buddhaditya Mukherjee and Ustad Bahauddin Dagar.

Born into a family with a musical lineage spanning seven generations, Ragini Shankar began training in Hindustani (North Indian) classical music on the violin at the age of four under the guidance of her grandmother, Padmabhushan Dr. N. Rajam, and her mother, Dr. Sangeeta Shankar — both renowned violinists.

Gifted with exceptional musical ability, Ragini has developed a distinctive style, mastering the Gayaki Ang technique—a revolutionary approach pioneered by her grandmother that translates vocal nuances onto the violin with remarkable accuracy, tonal depth, and technical finesse.

Mukundraj Deo is regarded as one of the finest tabla players of India’s younger generation. Coming from an artistic family, he received rigorous training in tabla under the late Pandit Brijraj Mishra (disciple of the late Pandit Sharada Sahai) of the Banaras Gharana, as well as under Pandit Mridangraj of the Ajrada Gharana.

He earned his Sangeet Visharad and Alankaar in tabla with first-class distinction from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. His talent has been widely recognized, earning him a National Scholarship from the Government of India in 1990, the prestigious Taalmani title from Sursingar Samsad in Mumbai in 1993, and a National Fellowship in 1997. He is an ‘A’ grade artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan.

Mukundraj Deo has had the honour of accompanying some of India’s most iconic maestros, including Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Dr. Prabha Atre, Begum Parveen Sultana, Dr. N. Rajam, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, and Pandit Ramnarayan.

He has performed internationally, participating in major music festivals such as the Adelaide Festival in Australia, York Early Music Festival in England, Fes World Music Festival in Morocco, and the Sydney Opera House Festival in Australia.

Shahbaz Hussain is one of the most accomplished tabla virtuosos of his generation, earning widespread recognition for his captivating performances. He has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious “Son of Lahore” Award from the Government of Pakistan.

He began his training at the age of five under his father, the late Ustad Mumtaz Hussain, a renowned vocalist. He later studied with tabla masters Ustad Faiyaz Khan of the Delhi Gharana, the late Ustad Shaukat Hussain Khan of the Punjab Gharana, and finally, the legendary Ustad Allah Rakha Khan.
