Experience a sonic celebration of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan — one of qawwali’s most enduring figures in an evening where ancient spirituality meets modern musical innovation.

Join us in the Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium as the Mekaal Hasan Band revisits Night Song — the iconic album by qawwali legend Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Canadian producer Michael Brook. Nearly two decades later, this album is revered as a milestone in global music, introducing the spiritual depth of qawwali to an international audience upon its release in 1996.

Honouring its lasting impact and cross-cultural resonance, this project reimagines seven of the album’s tracks, blending elements of jazz, rock, and world music to create a dialogue between traditional devotional music and modern sound design. Experience the mesmerizing vocals of distinguished qawwali musician Shahzad Ali Khan performing alongside local guest artists, each musician brings their diverse cultural heritage, contributing unique musical perspectives to the project.
