Created from three decades of archival footage across forty countries, Living Stories reflects on the evolution of Sashar Zarif’s choreographic practice — an ever-shifting dialogue between movement, memory, and belonging. The film weaves excerpts from Zarif’s past performances, rehearsals, fieldwork, and original video work into a living tapestry that embodies his philosophy of the thinking, sounding, and moving body. It traces transformation across decades, revealing how ancestral wisdom, cultural exchange, and personal quest have shaped an ever-evolving artistic practice grounded in shared human experience — a way of seeing life itself as choreography, unfolding through motion and becoming a living story.
