Get a closer look at Cosmic Diagrams in a rare opportunity to experience the installation through the artist’s own perspective. Join Los Angeles–based artist Kour Pour and Aga Khan Museum Curator, Dr. Michael Chagnon, for an intimate artist talk in the Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium.

On view in the Museum Collections Gallery, Kour Pour: Cosmic Diagrams brings together three monumental paintings that trace humanity’s enduring fascination with the structure of the universe. Drawing from a rich visual vocabulary that includes Persian carpets, mandalas, and zodiacal charts, Pour’s works reflect the kaleidoscopic ways cultures across time and geography have sought to map the cosmos — and their place within it.

During this talk with Aga Khan Museum Curator, Dr. Michael Chagnon, Pour will discuss his research-driven practice, the cultural references embedded within the paintings, and how historical systems of knowledge continue to shape contemporary artistic expression.
