Inclusive by Design: Approaches to Sensory and Participatory Accessibility
Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Price: FREE (registration required)
How can museums and libraries create sensory-inclusive, participatory experiences where every visitor feels genuinely welcomed and supported in engaging meaningfully on their own terms?
This session brings together a growing community of practice dedicated to rethinking accessibility through sensory-responsive design, inclusive programming, and collaborative approaches to visitor engagement. Speakers will share concrete strategies — such as social narratives, sensory-support tools, adaptive environments, and co-designed resources — that help reduce barriers and make cultural spaces more predictable, comfortable, and empowering for diverse audiences.
Participants will gain new perspectives, practical ideas, and a shared framework for advancing accessibility as a collective responsibility across museums and libraries.
