Subhadra Vijaykumar is a Mississauga-based award-winning Carnatic (South Indian) classical violinist. Her mission is to earn recognition for the Carnatic style of playing the Western violin.

She has performed to a diverse audience across the GTA and abroad. She recently rendered the National Anthems of Canada and the USA at the Raptors game at the Scotiabank Arena. She is a faculty member at the Oscar Peterson School of Music of the Royal Conservatory of Music. 

Quincy Bullen, a versatile artist rooted in classical and jazz, reshapes R&B, jazz, funk, and soul with a unique flair. Rising star in Canadian jazz, founding member of Quintessential Boys, he released “On Q” in 2010, showcasing funky jazz vibes. His latest CD explores synthesis, melding genres with signature piano, Rhodes, and funky bass lines, pushing the boundaries of modern music. Beyond music, Quincy is a skilled actor and singer, gracing festivals worldwide. A dynamic performer, he shares his love of music with the world.

This inclusive workshop brings people together from different communities through drumming to learn about West African culture and tradition. Work on the Djembé using different techniques and rhythms.

Artist Amadou Kienou will bring the Djembé to teach everyone how to drum and journey through the Djembé’s vocabulary. The Djembe is not only a musical instrument, it is a form of communication, used to send messages from Village to Village, city to city, and country to country. The Djembé is a universal instrument that brings people together.
