Discover the transformative role of light in art in this two-day workshop.
Inspired by the Museum’s Collections and upcoming exhibition, As the Sun Appears from Beyond: 20 Years of the Al Burda Award, this hands-on workshop will journey through the intricate art of Turkish mosaic design, taking a close look at exquisite examples of decorative patterns as well as diverse glass lamps. In this workshop, you will explore traditional techniques and the cultural significance of light in Islamic art as you create your own beautiful mosaic candle holder and personalized tea light candles.
This workshop will be led by experienced Museum Educators from our Education and Public Engagement Department. Skilled facilitators and visual artists, the instructors bring a wealth of knowledge of cultural traditions and artistic techniques.

Day Two

Session two and completion of candle holder (grouting)
