Join Dr. Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès, guest curator of Inner Structures – Outer Rhythms and Founding Director of the Khatt Foundation, as she talks about her experience as a designer, educator, and cultural advocate. Huda will explore how design is not just visual — it’s cultural, historical, and deeply human.

Through the lens of the exhibition, she will reflect on how Arabic and Persian scripts have long served as powerful tools of expression, connection, and continuity across regions and generations. From calligraphy and poetry to contemporary type design, she will reveal how these visual traditions carry the rhythms of music, the structure of language, and the spirit of shared heritage.

The talk will also highlight the work of designers featured in Inner Structures – Outer Rhythms, whose pieces bridge the past and present, reshaping how we think about Islamic art today. Whether you’re interested in design, cultural heritage, or simply curious to learn more about the stories behind the exhibition, this talk offers an inspiring window into the living tradition of Islamic visual culture.
