Throughout the week, they will design and build their own versions of classic games, including handmade Snakes and Ladders boards, Mancala sets created from recycled materials, and custom domino pieces. They will also experiment with creative puzzles by making shrinky-plastic stained-glass puzzles and sculpting their own Kongki Noli clay game pieces inspired by a traditional Korean game. Gallery scavenger hunts, outdoor relay races, and collaborative art activities bring energy and movement to a week focused on the joy of play.

They will create tangram puzzle sets, design their own strategy board games with missions, paths, and characters, and build sliding tile puzzles that reveal hidden images. Campers will also experiment with logic and deduction by making a paper version of the classic Mastermind code-breaking game and drawing their own maze challenges for others to solve. Through these hands-on projects and collaborative challenges, campers learn how strategy, planning, and creativity come together in game design.

They will build their own quest board game, create treasure maps filled with rivers, caves, and hidden clues, and assemble “I Spy” discovery jars packed with tiny objects hidden in sand. Hands-on making continues with clay Tetris puzzle pieces and decorated virtue

stones that represent qualities like courage and kindness. Team challenges, such as a marshmallow tower-building mission and treasure hunts, encourage collaboration while campers invent their own stories of adventure and discovery.

They will create custom checkerboards and playing pieces, invent a brand-new mini-tournament game with their team, and build a mini stadium diorama complete with crowds, banners, and scoreboards. They will also construct large 3D dice, design royal playing cards that represent qualities like courage or strategy, and invent a museum-inspired “Spot It” observation game. Logic challenges like Sudoku and crossword puzzles add an extra layer of problem-solving to a week focused on creativity, design, and playful thinking.

Campers will sculpt and paint their own mythical creatures from clay, design sock puppet characters, and create interactive felt storybooks with movable characters. They will also build rainstick musical instruments, invent imaginative tools, and create artwork that shows a portal between the real world and an imaginary one. Through collaborative storytelling games, drawing challenges, and expressive movement activities, campers bring their ideas to life while building confidence and creative expression.

Activities like the collaborative Werewolf deduction game encourage campers to think critically, anticipate outcomes, and experiment with strategy in a playful and engaging way.

They will develop hero and villain character sheets with special abilities, sculpt mythical creatures and magical beasts from clay, and design dice towers and customized dice for their imagined games. Campers will also craft wearable magical jewelry for their characters, build environments for their worlds, and even write letters to their characters as part of their storytelling process. By the end of the week, each camper will have built a unique narrative universe ready for play.

They will design custom Guess Who–style character games, create mission cards and rule systems, and build their own game boards and decorative game boxes. Campers will also create character sheets and magical abilities for their players while testing their games with other campers. Through design, testing, and revision, they experience the full creative process behind game development.

The final week celebrates the thrill of competition and the games campers have learned throughout the summer. Campers will participate in camp-wide tournaments of chess, checkers, and Snakes and Ladders, while also building creative elements like dice towers, maze challenges, and a clay polo horse racing game based on probability and strategy. They will also create manuscript-style artworks depicting scenes of play and competition, culminating in a gallery-style showcase of their games and artworks.
