The Promise of Music

October 6–10, 2025

Join us for The Promise of Music’s first World Congress on the Social Impact of Music from October 6 to 10, hosted across a variety of venues across Toronto.

Gathering the world’s most inspiring artists, performers and changemakers for five transformative days of concerts, public forums and special events, the First World Congress on the Social Impact of Music is the first global festival igniting music’s potential to transform lives and better the world. It features a series of concerts, public forums, and special programs designed to inspire and engage attendees, and also offers a platform for discussions on how music can transform lives and communities. Highlights include performances by the Afghan National Institute of Music, the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, and the Firdaus Orchestra, among others.

Mission

Orchestras, artists, dreamers, heroes and trailblazers from across the globe are gathering in Toronto to proclaim a simple truth: Music changes everything. With music education, children grow up to achieve significantly more academically, socially and interpersonally. They connect better with others and create better careers for themselves. The Promise of Music is a spectacular week of joy and inspiration that celebrates how music-making transforms and saves lives across the world.

The Promise of Music

The Promise of Music is a transformative initiative by The Glenn Gould Foundation that celebrates the profound impact of music on individuals and communities worldwide. This project convenes artists, educators, and changemakers to explore how music fosters healing, builds empathy, and drives social change.
