2025 Duende International Flamenco Festival
Sunday, November 16–Sunday, November 23, 2025
Celebrate the Aga Khan Museum’s 11th annual Duende International Flamenco Festival: Flamenco Reimagined from November 16 to 23. Experience the pluralistic energy of flamenco through masterclasses, family and community workshops, and our highly anticipated must-see performances.
A fresh and modern take on flamenco that blends the traditional and modern aspects of this evolving art form, Flamenco Reimagined features international headliners, all from Spain, representing the innovation and spirit of contemporary flamenco being made in flamenco’s birthplace.
Our 2025 edition of Duende includes family workshops, community dance workshops and masterclasses as well as our established school outreach programming.
This year’s lineup of must-see evening performances features:

Oscuro Brillante
Thursday, November 20 • 8 pm
Eva Yerbabuena’s theatrical flamenco work explores the tension between tradition and innovation through intense, expressionistic movement. Across four movements, she transforms darkness into light, reimagining flamenco as both timeless and vibrantly alive.

Cruces
Friday, November 21 • 8 pm
a dynamic flamenco performance where dance, song, guitar, and percussion interact in equal measure, creating a vibrant, intimate dialogue. Blending tradition with innovation, it celebrates flamenco’s rhythms, silences, and uncontainable joy while moving beyond conventional boundaries.

Made in Canada
Saturday, November 22 • 8 pm
An evening of flamenco reimagined by Canada’s most dynamic artists, blending tradition with diverse cultural and contemporary influences. The performance showcases cross-cultural creativity, where global styles meet the passion and intensity of flamenco.

Alter Ego
Sunday, November 23 • 8 pm
A daring flamenco performance where Alfonso Losa and Paula Comitre confront their alter egos in a raw, electrifying dialogue of movement. Blending tradition with modern intensity, it delivers explosive duets, visceral solos, and groundbreaking artistry.

FLAMENCO FOR ALL!
November 16 • 2 pm
Don’t miss a special interactive showcase for all ages featuring Alfonso Cid, Guillermo Guillén, and Keth Lases.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of flamenco with an engaging and interactive experience that journeys through the geography, history, and rich culture of the fiery art form. Participate in a lively Q&A, hands-on activities, and breathtaking performances by Alfonso Cid, Guillermo Guillén, and Keth Lases.
Peñas
November 20–23
Peñas are informal social venues that bring together audiences and artists to encourage conversation and allow for the appreciation of performances, both planned and spontaneous.
Join us in the Museum’s Atrium as it transforms into a Peña following the performances in the Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium. Mingle with other audience members, the artists, and enjoy the festive atmosphere while diverse local flamenco artists whisk you away each evening.
*Admission to each Peña is included with the ticket purchased for that evening’s performance. Tickets for the Peñas can’t be purchased separately.
The Museum’s Performing Arts programming is generously supported by the Nanji Family Foundation.
