Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Museum Operations, the Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events, ensuring each event meets client expectations and runs smoothly. The role supports event logistics, client coordination, vendor management, and on-site event execution.  With a focus on customer service, organization, and efficiency, the incumbent will be responsible for adhering to institutional policies and procedures during events, ensuring that clients receive professional and prompt service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the execution of assigned events, including establishing itineraries, booking event resources, and communicating event setup and audio-visual requirements in consultation with relevant departments.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare feedback summaries to support continuous improvement.
• Ensure events adhere to policies and procedures related to the health, safety, security, and emergency preparedness of staff, equipment, and guests.
• Review event briefing notes and distribute them to applicable teams, departments, contractors, suppliers, and partner institutions.
• Serve as the onsite event lead for assigned events.
• Work with the Production team to ensure clients’ audio-visual requirements are executed as needed.
• Liaise with assigned clients as their primary point of contact.
• Open and secure the premises before and after events and supervise event production onsite.
• Provide setup and tear-down support, including receiving and returning rentals, disposing of garbage, and ensuring the venue is ready for operations the following day.
• Supervise staff and volunteers in the absence of the line manager during events, ensuring responsibilities are carried out appropriately.
• Direct clients, staff, and volunteers during emergency evacuations, ensuring the safety of all attendees.
• Submit event reports after each event and promptly report any incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and/or Senior Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• College diploma in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning and execution within the hospitality or events industry. Previous experience working in a museum, gallery, cultural attraction, or hospitality environment is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive, friendly, and outgoing attitude with excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize complex and competing workloads under pressure.
• Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently with flexibility and dependability, as well as experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a strong service focus.
• Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and internal and external partners.
• Demonstrated interest in the Museum’s mandate.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Hours and/or days of work are not guaranteed. Shifts will be scheduled based on operational needs and the incumbent’s availability, with schedules provided two weeks in advance.

Purpose of Position

The Museum is looking for Summer Camp Assistants to join our team of creative individuals that facilitate the Museum’s Summer Camps. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cultural institution. Summer Camp Assistants will work closely with the Manager, Education and the Museum’s Educators to assist with planning, preparing, and delivery of programs that foster creative skills in children and youth through the arts and the Museum’s Collections.

Program Stream: Canada Summer Jobs

Schedule: 7 weeks (Monday–Friday)

Duration: June 29–August 14, 2026 (35 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $19/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Support Museum Educators in delivering engaging, arts-based programs inspired by Islamic art, including storytelling, pattern-making, and hands-on activities.
• Assist in facilitating workshops by demonstrating techniques and supporting children with diverse learning styles.
• Supervise children throughout the camp day, including activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment that supports creativity and positive behaviour.
• Guide small groups and demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Set up and maintain organized, clean, and safe classroom and studio spaces.
• Prepare and manage program materials, tools, and supplies.
• Assist with daily sign-in and sign-out, ensuring safe and accurate child release.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with families and caregivers.
• Support weekly exhibitions or displays of children’s artwork.
• Follow safety procedures and escalate concerns to senior staff as needed.
• Contribute to team debriefs and program feedback.
• Use basic digital tools for attendance, scheduling, and communication.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
• Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Interested in exploring careers in museums, teaching, community arts, or youth work;looking for structured, supported work experience to build confidence and a professional track record.
• Comfortable working with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Support campers who require additional guidance, reassurance, or adapted instructions to fully participate in camp activities, using inclusive and trauma-informed approaches under staff supervision.
• Adapt and simplify arts-based programming by breaking down lessons and modifying materials to meet diverse learning needs and individual pacing.
• Supervise children throughout daily camp activities, including workshops, meals, breaks, and outdoor play, while supporting positive behaviour guidance, de-escalation, and emotional regulation strategies when needed.
• Assist in creating and maintaining inclusive, sensory-friendly environments, including quiet spaces and supporting children experiencing sensory overload with calming strategies and transitions.
• Support Educators in delivering arts programming inspired by Islamic art, geometry, calligraphy, and storytelling, including one-on-one and small group facilitation that encourages creative expression and participation.
• Assist with operational and administrative tasks such as sign-in/out procedures, attendance tracking, basic documentation, and use of digital tools for scheduling and communication.
• Communicate respectfully with caregivers and support accessible engagement, including families facing language or settlement barriers.
• Follow all health, safety, and program procedures, report concerns to senior staff.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Director, Development, the Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts & Campaigns is a dynamic and driven fundraiser focused on building long-term authentic relationships with donors who are passionate about the Museum’s mission. They will be responsible for generating annual revenue towards the Museum’s strategic priorities through building and managing a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. In this role, they will also develop creative strategies to solicit new prospects, grow existing donor relationships and identify new opportunities for revenue diversification. The Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts & Campaigns will be instrumental in supporting special initiatives, creating meaningful opportunities to help shape some of the Museum’s most exciting and ambitious fundraising priorities.

Working collaboratively across the Development team and the wider organization, they will help drive the Museum’s philanthropic initiatives and advance its vision of building more peaceful and inclusive societies.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Portfolio Management

• Independently manage a portfolio of major gift donors, through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Proactively identify and qualify new prospects, leveraging volunteer networks, research tools, and creativity to continuously build and strengthen the team’s pipeline.
• Build and deepen donor relationships to drive gift growth and donor passion for the Museum’s mission over time.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for revenue growth including corporate sponsorship, foundation and gala support.
• Maintain portfolio records, including moves management and all related CRM work.

Campaign & Portfolio Support

• Support the Director on campaign and prospect priorities through preparing compelling donor proposals, briefing notes, and presentations.
• Support the Director in the planning and execution of campaigns and special initiatives including volunteer management and administrative work.
• In collaboration with the Stewardship team, develop cultivation and stewardship strategies including events in Canada and internationally.
• Conduct prospect research and contribute to the development of cultivation strategies for major gift prospects across the team’s portfolios.

Team Collaboration

• Contribute to the execution of the department’s annual plan for revenue growth and diversification.
• Work with colleagues across the Development team to strengthen the Museum’s donor pipeline, cultivation strategies, and diversification efforts.
• Collaborate on team planning processes and contribute institutional knowledge across the portfolios.
• Support the team’s overall fundraising priorities across the department.
• Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications & Experience 

• University degree or an equivalent combination of experience in fundraising, preferably in the arts and culture nonprofit sector.
• Minimum four (4) years of professional experience in donor portfolio and relationship management at the major gift level, including identifying and cultivating new prospects, preferably in the arts and culture nonprofit sector.
• Proven track record of successfully soliciting and securing gifts from prospects and donors.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal/relationship management skills, including experience working with volunteers.
• Result-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with donor databases and CRMs, Tessitura is an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends, for events and meetings.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
• Expressed interest in the mandate of the Museum.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days in-office (typically Tuesday–Thursday).

The salary range for this position is $75,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
