Warren Senders

Warren Senders is a faculty member of the New England Conservatory of Music, and a khyaliya of the Gwalior, Agra, and Jaipur gharanas. He began studying Hindustani music in 1977, and in 1985 became a disciple of the Pune-based master teacher, Pt. S.G. Devasthali, who gave him daily taleem (training) for many years. Mr. Senders gave his professional debut as a khyal singer in New Delhi in 1990, and since then has won acclaim from critics and audiences all over the world for his authentic, heartfelt, and virtuosic performances. A dedicated teacher, his lecture-demonstrations and classes have introduced thousands of listeners to the riches of Hindustani music.
