Shamez Mohamed
From 2005 to early 2017, Shamez Mohamed served as the Executive Officer of Imara (Wynford Drive) Limited and Imara (Sussex Drive) Limited. He continued to serve as Honorary Executive Officer till 2020. These companies were responsible for the development of the high-profile projects of the Aga Khan Development Network and the Ismaili Imamat in Canada. Shamez lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in the design, construction and fit-out of these projects: the Ismaili Centre Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum (opened in September 2014); the Aga Khan Park (inaugurated in May 2015); the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa (opened in December 2008); and the Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa (officially opened in May 2017).
Shamez is currently the Managing Director of Centaur Floor Machines where he is responsible for the day-to-day management of production operations, sales and finance. He also drives the development and implementation of business strategy.
Shamez started his career with a small construction company in Woodbridge, Ontario and then worked in management consulting for several years with Mercer Management Consulting in Toronto, serving clients in a wide range of industries delivering value in Supply Chain optimization and Procurement effectiveness.
During an 18-month sabbatical from management consulting, he volunteered with FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance, a disaster management agency, to lead the establishment of its Indian operations and served as the first Executive Officer of FOCUS India.
Shamez graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Harvard University and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
