Salar Nader
A standout tabla virtuoso, composer, and producer, Salar Nader has been hailed as a global ambassador of South Asian arts, bridging his Afghan heritage with classical Indian traditions. A protégé of Ustad Zakir Hussain since the age of seven, Salar has toured and recorded with luminaries such as Kronos Quartet, Stanley Clarke, Wu Man, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, and the Grand Tapestry with Alam Khan. His recent works include scoring the stage adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner and premiering Zakir Hussain’s Murmurs in Time with Third Coast Percussion. Salar’s artistry fuses virtuosic rhythm, storytelling, and contemporary collaborations, making him one of the most innovative percussionists of his generation.
