Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan

Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan is the youngest child of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV (d. 2025). Prince Aly was born on 7 March 2000 in Paris, France. He graduated from Harvard University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government.

In 2024, Prince Aly joined the head office of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in Geneva, where he focuses on programmes to catalyse entrepreneurship, enhance employability, and build skills in the digital and green economies. He steers the Foundation’s economic initiatives and its partnerships with the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, the economic development and commercial investment arm of the Aga Khan Development Network. He is a member of the Executive and Investment Committees of Accelerate Prosperity, a business accelerator and incubator that finances start-ups in central and south Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Other areas of Prince Aly’s work include AKF’s efforts to address affordability and scalability of clean energy through innovative finance; the development of coastal Eastern Africa and South Asia through the Indian Ocean Coastal Regeneration Initiative; and programmes in Portugal and Germany that improve economic outcomes for marginalised communities.

Prince Aly also steers joint work between AKF and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s Historic Cities Programme, and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Aga Khan Music Programme, which encompasses the triennial Aga Khan Music Awards and music education and preservation.

Prince Aly works closely with his brother, His Highness the Aga Khan, in the oversight of other AKDN agencies, including the University of Central Asia, a regional university founded by the Ismaili Imamat and the states of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan, and FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance, an emergency relief and resettlement agency.
