Pandit Anindo Chatterjee
Regarded as one of India’s tabla maestros, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee has been a prodigy from childhood. He was blessed by Ustad Amir Khansaheb at age 10 and trained in the Farukhabad style, developing a unique technique marked by speed, clarity, and intricate rhythms. Today, Anindo Chatterjee stands as one of the Classical figures of India.
Over a six-decade career, he has performed in more than 60 countries at venues including Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and Sydney Opera House, and collaborated with legendary musicians across North and South Indian traditions. A cultural ambassador of India, he has represented the country worldwide and performed for dignitaries including President Barack Obama. A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and a top-grade artist of ICCR, All India Radio, and Doordarshan, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee remains a towering figure in Indian classical music.
