Nishar Mansuri
Nishar Mansuri is a writer, storyteller, and artistic director whose work is rooted in love, poetry, music, and the rich cultural traditions of South Asia.
Born into a family that has followed the Rifai Sufi order, Nishar grew up with Sufi thought as a living part of everyday life. Poetry, music, devotion, and stories of saints and seekers were not distant ideas, but part of the world he inherited. From an early age, he was drawn to the poetry of Bulleh Shah, Kabir, Rumi, Amir Khusrau, and other mystic poets, and to the Sufi and folk music he grew up listening to.
This inheritance continues to shape the way Nishar sees storytelling. He is interested in the questions that sit beneath our everyday experiences: What does it mean to love? What does longing do to us? Can the search for another person become a search for something greater than ourselves?
For Nishar, the work is also personal. It is a way of returning to the stories, sounds, and poetry that shaped him, while finding a language through which they can be shared with audiences today. His practice is guided by a simple belief: that old stories are not necessarily stories of the past. Sometimes, they are simply waiting for us to hear them again.
Alongside his artistic practice, Nishar works in cultural and content marketing, where he continues to build stories and create connections between artists, audiences, and communities.
