Narendra Pachkhédé
Narendra Pachkhédé is a scholar, critic, essayist, and curator whose work engages global intellectual history, the philosophy of the image, cinema, and contemporary curatorial discourse. A Commonwealth Fellow trained in anthropology, politics, and cinema, he brings an interdisciplinary approach to the study of culture, representation, and public life. His practice is shaped by a commitment to intellectual pluralism and to culture as a serious site of inquiry, ethical reflection, and civic imagination.
He has undertaken curatorial, programmatic, and research work with institutions including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Western Front, Vancouver, the Portrait Gallery of Canada, Zuzeum Art Museum in Riga, and the International Art Gallery in Lisbon. His recent exhibitions include Ranbir Sidhu’s No Limits at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Figures, Fables and Histories: From Here One Can See at DAG-AND1357, Toronto. He has written major catalogue essays, published widely across disciplines, and lectured internationally at institutions including the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Graduate Institute Geneva, the City University of New York, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and Tate Britain.
He is the Founding Director of the Global Curatorial Mentorship Program, an 18-credit initiative dedicated to shaping the next generation of curatorial leaders. He is the author of Form as History: When History No Longer Requires Us and Cinema of Unfinished Witnessing: Essays on Global Cinema in a Fractured World.
