Mitali Bhawmik

Born in Nogaon, Assam, India, Mitali Bhawmik is a raag sangeet (Indian classical music) artist. Since starting her training under Sri Ajit Dutta, Bhawmik has trained under renowned musicians such as the late Vidushi Meera Banerjee and the late Padma Bhushan Pandit V. G. Jog.

Through her extensive training, Mitali Bhawmik has pushed the boundaries of traditional Gharana, blending different traditions to create her own unique sound.

Bhawmik has performed at several prestigious venues in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. She received the 2021 Excellence in the Arts Award from the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission. She is currently the Director of Ethnomedia Music Studio where she teaches and promotes raag sangeet and is the founder of Raag-Rang, a non-profit organization that promotes music in the community by arranging concerts by musicians from the United States and India.
