Dani de Morón
Dani de Morón is one of the most awarded flamenco guitarists of recent decades, receiving honours such as two Giraldillos at the Bienal de Flamenco in Seville and a 2018 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Flamenco Album for 21.
He began his flamenco journey in Morón de la Frontera, home to the guitar tradition of Diego del Gastor. Trained in dance accompaniment at Matilde Coral’s academy and in singing accompaniment with leading cantaores and bailaores, de Morón has performed with artists including José Mercé, Antonio Canales, Manuela Carrasco, Concha Buika, Patricia Guerrero, and Paco de Lucía, whose recognition of his virtuosity helped launch his international career.
Curiosity, experimentation, and cross-genre exploration — particularly jazz — influence de Morón’s evolving artistry. His discography includes Cambio de sentido (2012), El sonido de mi libertad (2015), 21 (2018), Creer para ver (2020), and Empatía (2024). In 2022, he presented Carte Blanche, a solo concert format, at the Nîmes Festival and appeared prominently at the Bienal de Flamenco in Seville. He is currently working on a new project, Life Sketching, launching its first single with guitarist Yotam Silberstein.
