Amir Amiri, a master santur player from Tehran, blends ancient inspiration with bold creativity. Since moving to Canada in 1996, he has formed innovative ensembles such as the Amir Amiri Ensemble and Ensemble Kimya, blending diverse musical traditions. His collaborations, including with Richard Moody and Jean Félix Mailloux, have been praised for merging Eastern and Western sensibilities. Awarded the 2003 CBC Artist of the Year, Amiri continues to enchant audiences worldwide with his profound musical connection. Recent performances include Festival Vares Classics in Bosnia and Détours de Babel in France.
