Luke Jerram

Luke Jerram is a British multidisciplinary artist whose practice involves the creation of sculptures, installations and live arts projects. Jerram’s interest in the moon began while living in Bristol, UK, which has the second highest tidal variation in Europe. The scientific, cultural and artistic dimensions of the moon have fascinated the artist ever since. To him “the amazing thing about the moon is that it acts as a cultural mirror. Every culture has different stories and mythologies to tell about the moon.”

As well as touring his installations, Luke’s artworks are in over 70 permanent collections around the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Shanghai Museum of Glass and the Wellcome Collection in London. Other editions of the Museum of the Moon have toured across the globe and are held in collections worldwide including the National History Museum (Vienna), Adler Planetarium (Chicago), L’Ososphère (Strasbourg), OliOli (Dubai), Parque de las Ciencias (Granada), and the Canadian Museum of Nature (Ottawa).
