The Full Museum

Regarded as one of Toronto’s architectural and artistic gems, the Aga Khan Museum has it all when it comes to planning your perfect wedding. The Museum is also available for “Ceremony Only” events, both indoors and out.

Bellerive Room

The Bellerive Room, located on the main floor of the Museum, displays a selection from the ceramics collection of the late Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan and Princess Catherine Aga Khan. The room is a recreation of the “La Chambre Persane,” or “Persian Salon,” in their home, Chateau de Bellerive in Geneva, Switzerland, where part of the collection was originally on display. There are approximately 60 ceramic objects on view in the Bellerive room, and date from the early Islamic periods through to the 17th century. One of the more intimate spaces in the Museum, The Bellerive Room, can host gatherings ranging from lectures, book readings, cocktail receptions, private dinners, and more.

Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium and Lapis Lounge

The Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium combines state-of-the-art facilities with exquisite architecture and excellent acoustics. Under a dome inspired by the ceilings of 10th-century Islamic buildings, any event will be special.

The Lapis Lounge and Salon, named after the built in Lapis lazuli bar on the upper level, are an entertainer’s dream. Showcasing an architecturally stunning, spiral staircase, these spaces provide the perfect backdrop for any social engagement.

• Auditorium 336 seated, 50 capacity on stage
• Lapis Lounge and Lobby: 60 seated, 80 standing, each level

Atrium and Courtyard

The Atrium, located off of the main entrance, is the intersection of the Museum. Well suited for cocktail receptions, and all the way up to black tie gala affairs, The Atrium, can be easily transformed to accommodate groups of any size and fit the theme of your occasion.

The perfect balance of an indoor/outdoor area, The Courtyard, is an open-air space allowing you to experience natural elements in a one-of-a-kind setting. Enclosed by magnificent sky-high glass walls, boasting intricate geometric designs, you have a 360-degree view of the rest of the Museum from inside. The heated floor, comprised of lapis stone, Brazilian granite and limestone, continues a series of geometric patterns, giving it a truly unique aesthetic. This space can be used for performances, cocktail receptions, or even imagined into a late-night dance floor to cap off your event with style.

Diwan

An ornate dining space, Diwan features stunning décor that evokes the luxury of a private 19th-century Syrian home. Decorated wooden panels, hand-carved and painted in Damascus in 1799, adorn the walls of the restaurant, and a sun-lit patio overlooks the gardens of the Aga Khan Park.

Rupani Family Patrons’ Lounge

The Rupani Family Patrons’ Lounge boasts panoramic views of Toronto stretching down to the CN Tower and Lake Ontario. In the foreground are gardens and reflecting pools that showcase a distinctive modern take on the traditional Islamic garden. This highly versatile space is the perfect setting for an intimate dinner, bridal suite, or board meeting and boasts high touch amenities such as a private bar, coat check and accessible washrooms.

Capacity: 24 seated, 34 standing 

The Park and its formal gardens, designed by notable landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic, combine contemporary design with the motifs of a traditional Islamic garden. A peaceful oasis amid the fast pace of urban life, the Park offers a place for inspiration and contemplation in a setting that features beautiful trees, manicured lawns, and five reflecting pools. This highly versatile and immaculately maintained area is the Museum’s most photographed spot and lends itself to large outdoor celebrations of any kind.
