Son of the legendary musician Mohammed Hussain Sarahang and grandson of Ghulam Hussain Khan, Sarahang was appointed as Royal Musician to the Court of King Zahir Shah of Afghanistan (reigned 1933–73) at a very young age. His career spans decades and continents, and he continues to perform with the world’s most accomplished Indian and Afghan artists.
