Under the banner of Arrivals and Encounters, the Aga Khan Museum, the Aga Khan Park, and the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, play host to a range of exciting performances and installations from dusk to dawn during Nuit Blanche, the city’s annual all-night art event.
Explore portable, intimate, and unique structures – from Mongolian yurts, an all-American Airstream travel trailer, to an Indigenous teepee, and more – installed around the Museum, the Aga Khan Park, and the Ismaili Centre, Toronto. Immerse yourself in cross-cultural performances, art, and storytelling.
A place in constant movement, Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum are sites of arrivals and encounters between people from all over the world. Contemporary Toronto is home to Indigenous peoples, settlers, refugees seeking asylum, as well as new immigrants.
This year, under the banner of Arrivals and Encounters, we engage more than 30 artists across genres and disciplines and from a diversity of traditions. Artists gather in and around the Museum for performances that range from unplugged acoustic music and stripped-down experimental sets to installation work and multimedia experiences.
