What’s Your Sanctuary?

What's Your Sanctuary?

Rejoice in the healing power of human creativity and expression as you explore the Museum’s new What’s Your Sanctuary? collection of community-generated art.

Earlier this year, we called on art lovers in Canada and around the world to send in original pictures and short videos representing how they have found “sanctuary” during the COVID-19 lockdowns. We received hundreds of submissions, each offering a unique, deeply personal perspective on safe haven.

What’s Your Sanctuary? will be on display at the Museum until Sunday, October 18, 2020. See this revelatory compilation of community-generated art before it’s too late. You can also view the slideshow by clicking the video below.

We thank everyone who contributed to the What’s Your Sanctuary? project. Your art and stories inspire us as we build towards a better future for the Museum and the communities we serve.

What’s Your Sanctuary? is part of Rebuild 2020, the Aga Khan Museum’s program to reconnect and reinvigorate communities through the arts.
