This Earth Day, join us for an engaging conversation surrounding the impact of climate change from the lens of health, agriculture, and infrastructure, presented in partnership with the Ismaili Centre, Toronto and the Aga Khan Park.
Panellists include Dr. Samantha Green, a family physician in the University of Toronto’s Department of Family & Community Medicine and president-elect of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment; Afzal Sovani, an entrepreneur, lecturer, and bestselling author of The Heat is On; Jon Lomow, an accomplished entrepreneur with a focus on developing innovative ideas and organizations that solve complex commercial, societal, and environmental problems; and Rehana Rajabali, Associate Director of Engineering Services for the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, where she works towards mitigating natural hazard risks to communities and protecting the natural environment.
Continue the conversation with Associate Curator at the Aga Khan Museum, Bita Pourvash as she introduces our themed installation, Water and reflects on the significance of the essential element by examining its various applications and representations in Muslim art and literature. The themed installation invites you to contemplate the significance of this finite source and the measures pertinent to maintaining a healthy environment for future generations.
This panel discussion will take place at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, just across the Aga Khan Park.
Before the panel, take advantage of BMO Free Wednesdays by exploring the Museum Collections Gallery and refreshing with a comforting snack from the Courtyard Café.
