Recognizing the contributions of essential workers

May 5, 2020

A Message from the Museum's Director and CEO:

The Aga Khan Museum is a celebration of the beauty in our differences and the common humanity we all share. Though our doors remain temporarily closed, we continue to celebrate the art, the traditions, and the ideas that link us together while we stay physically apart.

And then there’s the people. Our mission to connect cultures through the arts could not go on without the efforts of our essential workers. We owe a monumental debt of gratitude to the healthcare professionals and first responders on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19, the cleaners and sanitation workers tending our shared spaces, the transit operators and delivery drivers moving people and vital goods, and the grocery store and pharmacy employees stocking life-giving food and life-saving medications.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your historic efforts to keep all of us safe, healthy, and connected. You inspire us, and we can’t wait to celebrate you in person.

Sincerely,

Henry S. Kim
Director and CEO
