Explore Islamic Architecture

May 21 – Nov 24, 2019

Discover the fascinating architecture that lives within our Museum Collection with our new rotation of featured artworks, and a new architecture guide that’s fun for the whole family.

You’ll have the chance to explore 15th to 19th century architecture and decorative elements that reflect the climate and materials available in the time and place they were built. You will see how functional needs and aesthetic design — including geometric patterns, calligraphic panels, and figurative elements — have led to the beautiful and unique architectural marvels seen throughout Muslim civilizations.
