The large central medallion of this brown lustre dish contains curling arabesques and small, standing birds it is bordered by a naskhi inscription. A broad middle band contains oval cartouches, each with two facing birds. This band is surrounded by a second naskhi inscription. An outer, large band circles the rim and repeats the Arabic words "al-Haqq, al-Alim, al-Sa'adat, al-Salimat" (the Truth, the Omniscient, happiness, safety). The exterior is decorated with dense, arabesque foliage. A naskhi inscription has been written below the rim. This inscription as well as the two similar inscriptions on the interior are in Persian.
